Both Allardyce and Rafael Benitez have regularly feuded in the Premier League ever since Benitez arrived at Liverpool six seasons ago. Benitez has complained about Allardyce's teams being too physical in their play.
Allardyce's side are the visitors at Anfield on Sunday and the Rovers boss has wasted no time in getting under Benitez's skin.
The Rovers manager told The Sun he has noticed that Liverpool have employed a similar physical approach to their game recently.
"He's used all that stuff that he always says he doesn't like - it's ironic isn't it?," said the Blackburn manager.
