Donovan was telling reporters about his chances of staying in England after his telling contribution in the Toffees' 5-1 win over Hull.
The 28-year old LA Galaxy striker is almost at the end of his initial deal with the Toffees but after scoring one and creating one goal for Everton on Sunday, Donovan said an extension was on the cards.
"First of all, winning was important and it's nice to get a goal," Donovan said.
"There is a chance (of staying). We will know more this week. If that was it then I'm happy. Maybe we can stay a little longer, we'll see.
"The fans, the people here are fantastic, the players are fantastic. I've enjoyed it here tremendously."
However, Galaxy coach Bruce Arena has already said that Donovan will be heading back to the States after his loan deal ends.
