Part of Levein's new disciplinary code is a ban on alcohol when the players are on Scotland duty and McFadden, who is confident of shaking off a groin injury in time for Wednesday night, welcomed the move.
"I don't think anyone has any major problems not being able to have a drink," the Birmingham City striker said.
"We are only here for a short period of time.
"I think it's right to have a drink at the right times, if you want to because some players don't drink at all.
"But the manager has his own way of doing things and the players will stick to that."
Levein's assistant, Peter Houston, claims Levein is simply taking his principles from club football into the international arena.
