In Group E, Chinese champions Beijing Guoan kick off their campaign against reigning Australian champions Melbourne Victory, who recently finished second in the 2009-10 A-League table and are currently involved in the playoffs.

Brazilian striker Otto and former Scotland defender Maurice Ross have joined Bosnian midfielder Darko Matic and Australian striker Joel Griffiths as Guoan's imports for the 2010 season.

The Imperial Guard's local stars include internationals Huang Bowen, fellow midfielder Yang Hao and goalkeeper Yang Zhi, who all helped China win this month's East Asian Football Federation Championship. Beijing have also added free-kick specialist Xu Liang, Wang Xiaolong and Wu Hao to their squad.

However, centre-back Lang Zheng is suspended for the clash against Melbourne following on from last year's campaign, when Beijing were among the four Chinese clubs who failed to progress from the group stage.
