Seyed Hosseini put Sepahan ahead in the 13th minute at the King Fahd International Stadium, but Al Shabab rescued a point when Faisal Al Sultan levelled in the 69th minute.
Despite a host of chances for both side's there were no further goals, but despite seeing his charges coming away with only a point, Ghalenoei was quick to praise the quality of football on display.
"The match was one of the most beautiful games in the first round of the current competition," he said.
