The goalkeeper elaborated that the defence had a good game and that the team has to take advantage of the face that they are still leading the pack at the top of the table.
Speaking to AS after the match the custodian said: "The team played a good game, especially in defence. Here at the Calderon, it is always hard to get points. We continue as leaders [in the league] and must make use of it."
The 28-year-old had the honour of becoming the third highest capped Barcelona goalkeeper, but his night was dampened with after being beaten twice by Diego Forlan and Simao Sabrosa.
This is the third season in a row that Atletico has defeated the Spanish champions in this fixture.
While Zlatan Ibrahimovic managed to get one back for the visitors it was never looked likely for Barcelona to comeback.
