The Italian has appealed to UEFA to review the refereeing standards, as being ‘adequate' is not good enough.
Speaking to Sky after the match the club president said: "I saw a Fiorentina that played really well, without fear, and we must be happy about this.
"It is a positive sign, and a step in the right direction.
"It is too often that we see officials that are not good enough to do this job. If they are not up to it, someone must tell them, and let them do something else.
"The team will be ready for the return leg, and this match will also give them a boost for the remainder of the domestic season," he concluded.
